WHO AM I?

Ever since my older brothers handed me an unplugged N64 controller, letting me believe I was playing Star Fox or Mario as a toddler, video games have been all I can think about. As I grew up, gaming evolved from a passion into my entire lifestyle. I poured myself into every facet of gaming culture: reading the latest news, following popular streamers, watching esports, participating in online forums, joining communities, watching GDC talks, and so much more.

Fast forward to today and you will see I have been steadily at work trying to turn my passion for games into a career. I am a recent graduate from Chico State University with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Animation and Game Development. Post graduation I was grateful to work on a grant project for the USGS which tasked us with creating a serious training simulation for emergency coordinators (click here to learn more). Currently I am happy to be working for Code Ninjas, mentoring students ages 6-17 in foundational programming concepts.

 

I'm a strong believer in understanding the games I create holistically—from the design documentation all the way down to the lines of code and how they’re structured. When we understand all the moving parts of the games we work on and how they fit together, it allows us to work as a more cohesive unit and deliver gameplay experiences we are proud of!
